01:45 am - Mini Fanmix for The Hollow
As of 2005 I got hooked on urban fantasy. It started with me deciding to read something other than romance (I was running out of favourite authors) and flipping through Laurell K Hamilton's Laughing Corpse.

Quote from The Solitaire Mystery by Jostein Gaarder.

Time is turning me into an adult.

Just seven words strung together that echoes and depresses. As someone who is forever 15 in her brain, such a thought is quite the death knell. Sigh. No running away, no turning back.

The sand keeps spilling and no amount of force can push it back up to the top.

04:29 pm - Music, Vid & Supernatural
Music has always been a huge part of my life. Last year, a friend introduced me to my current madness that is the Supernatural fandom and I discovered a world populated with wildly talented folks who are generous in sharing their creativity. Initially fanfic kept me absorbed, what with writers like [info]ultraviolet9a, [info]ignipes, [info]minkmix and [info]eloise_bright putting forth their fantastic efforts at expanding the Winchester's universe. And then I was introduced to vids.

10:42 am - Do babies have music preference?
It seems to be the "professional" opinion that babies be exposed to classical music to help their development. Does it have to be Vivaldi, Mozart and Beethoven stuff only?

01:50 pm - How I fell in love with Supernatural
For a good bit of my life I've been quite a TV addict, but no show had eaten my brains completely the way Supernatural has.

Dear God.

*facepalms*

When it was first aired on the cable network, the promos looked interesting and I told myself, should make time to watch it. But I kept missing it or forgot about it.

Until Faith. I was struck dumb by how nicely the story unfolded, how real the characters felt but the Reaper freaked me out too much. I told myself, I'll watch it next week. But the chickenshit that I am recalled that it was too scary and gave that week a miss. I'm the kind of person , if made to watch a horror movie, would be watching from behind my fingers with a humongous cushion in front of me sitting behind the sofa. Really pathetic.

It took Hell House to seal it for me. The shallow me took one look at towel-clad Sammy and thought, "Hey! Nice eye candy!" But by the end of the episode, I was firmly a Dean-girl all the way. There may be hints of bi-bro leanings, but I will staunchly deny that. And I am slowly overcoming my chickenshitness at horror movies.

Thanks to an enabling friend, I discovered Supernatural fanfiction. That is when I fell completely and utterly in love with near everything Supernatural. The fans in this fandom are immensely talented and generous. People like [info]ultraviolet9a, who paint stories of the Winchester boys so beautifully and accurately (to me, at least), share their gift unstintingly. And the music and vids ... there are no words. Just a big thank you to all the fans who willingly share their talents and hardwork with fans of Supernatural through out the world.

06:51 pm - Food for thought
I was watching Downsize Me on the Discovery Health & Home channel this afternoon featuring a couple from Australia. Man, I'm amazed at the amount of food and booze they could put away. When I described to my Mom the size of the serving dish they used for consuming ice cream, she commented,

"No wonder they're so big. It's because they didn't share their ice cream with me."

*blinks*

My Mom? She rocks. Hard.

12:17 am - You gotta love family
I can't believe I stayed up watching 28 Days with my Mom. I mean, Sandra Bullock's fine, but I'm supposed to be writing my thesis.

*facepalm*

I am, after all, the undisputed Queen of Procrastination in my house. Heh. What glory.

Anyway ...

My Mom had been complaining about the noisy A/C of my backyard neighbour. It is loud. Really loud. However, since my room faced the backyard, I guess I must have grown immune to the loud, rumbly bastard. I posit to her, "What can we do? Do we call 'em up and ask them to either get a new A/C unit or change the bloody thing?"

My mother's solution? Let's throw a rag or something on that sucker to make it blow up or at least, damaged beyond repair so that the neighbours would have to buy a new, more auditory friendly unit.

Ah, my mother ... the penultimate neighbourhood vandal. You should hear what she did to the smelly lorry that was parked in front of our house in the old neighbourhood. But that's a story for another day.
